DoorDash and Flytrex Launch Drone Delivery in Dallas-Fort Worth

DoorDash has officially launched drone delivery services in partnership with Flytrex, expanding autonomous last-mile delivery options in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The service is now live in the suburbs of Frisco and Little Elm, covering approximately 30,000 households.

The drones, capable of carrying up to 6.6 pounds, can deliver food orders directly to customers’ backyards in just minutes. Deliveries are available daily from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

This launch positions DFW as a key testing ground for drone delivery in the U.S., with other operators like Wing and Zipline also active in the region. As regulators continue to explore expanded drone corridors and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations, the area is becoming a model for how suburban drone delivery could scale nationwide.

DoorDash and Flytrex have previously conducted over 1,000 drone deliveries in pilot programs, and this latest rollout marks a significant step toward making autonomous delivery a practical option for everyday consumers.
