Between August and October, the US is set to introduce six new long-haul flight routes, marking an exciting expansion in international travel options. While the summer season doesn’t see many new launches, October is shaping up to be a busy month, especially as airlines transition to their winter schedules on October 26. Earlier in the year, we saw a flurry of new routes, including Aer Lingus’s service to Nashville and American Airlines’ flights from Chicago to Madrid. Delta also launched a route from Salt Lake City to Seoul Incheon, and Etihad began flights from Abu Dhabi to Atlanta.
Using OAG data, we’ve identified these upcoming long-haul routes, defined as those over 3,000 statute miles. Notably, LATAM will resume flights from Lima to Orlando on October 26, but this route falls just short of our long-haul criteria. Among the new routes, Alaska Airlines will start flying from Seattle to Seoul Incheon on September 12, operated by Hawaiian Airlines. Gulf Air will connect Bahrain to New York JFK starting October 1, and EVA Air will launch a Taipei to Dallas/Fort Worth route on October 3. Icelandair will begin flights from Keflavik to Miami on October 25, and Delta will connect Atlanta to Marrakech the same day. Finally, Iberia will start a Madrid to Orlando service on October 26.
These new routes highlight the growing connectivity between the US and international destinations, offering travelers more options and convenience. Stay tuned for more updates on additional routes launching later in the year. #TravelExpansion #NewRoutes #LongHaulFlights
