Lufthansa Technik Secures PAL Express A320 Component Support Deal: Enhancing Fleet Efficiency

Lufthansa Technik has inked a long-term deal with Air Philippines Corporation, better known as PAL Express, to provide component support for their entire Airbus A320 fleet. This agreement grants PAL Express access to Lufthansa Technik’s extensive global component pool and ensures a dedicated stock of parts at their home base in the Philippines. The package also includes maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for a variety of aircraft components. Rabbi Vincent Ang, president of PAL Express, expressed confidence in the partnership, highlighting that the availability of spare parts in Manila, along with access to facilities in Hong Kong, Singapore, Hamburg, and Frankfurt, will keep their aircraft in top shape and ready to fly.

PAL Express, the domestic and regional wing of Philippine Airlines, operates both short-haul international and domestic routes throughout the Philippines. This new agreement further cements the longstanding relationship between Lufthansa Technik and the Philippine Airlines Group. Just before finalizing the A320 component deal, PAL Express also secured a separate MRO agreement with Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey for the maintenance of PW150 engines used in their De Havilland Canada Dash 8 fleet.

Jens Michel, vice president of corporate sales for North East Asia at Lufthansa Technik, expressed excitement over the strengthened partnership, noting that PAL Express’s decision to choose them again for A320 component support is a testament to their successful collaboration. As PAL Express continues to grow, Lufthansa Technik is eager to play a role in their ongoing success.
